Hey Kimberly! I popped on to Headway the other day to see what all the fuss was about and tried their demo. The only thing I didn’t like is that when I drag elements around they snap into weird spots I didn’t drag them to. Thus it was very difficult for me to lengthen the header area… when I moved the navigation and content down the shot to the bottom of the page without me asking. And when I tried to move them back up, they shot to the top and hid under the header! Ack! Is it possible that Headway just isn’t optimized for Google Chrome and I’d have better luck in Firefox or is this how Headway works and you have to learn to deal with it maybe using arrow keys instead of the mouse or something?

Laura I think that happened with one version of Headway Themes a
couple of weeks or so back. If it was HT 3.7.(anything other than 8)
give it another try because it really is amazing.

They recently upgraded and 3.7.4 and 3.7.6 were a little wonky for a few days. But, 3.7.8 is amazing. Big HUGS.

Thanks! It would be REALLY great to be able to make my website do exactly what I want. I know what I’m looking for but a designer costs an arm & a leg. I’m pretty techy, but I don’t know code so it’s really ineffective for me to mess around with the layout – Headway looks like a great option for me. Cross my fingers things go smoother with another browser. I would think I was testing with 3.7.8 since I was using Headway’s demo function from their sales pages, but maybe not.

Hi Kimberly, I like the idea of Headway, it looks great. I’m looking to create a site with information and a forum. Do you know if Headway is compatible with any particular forum plug-ins, such as bb press, or anything else??

    • Kimberly Gosney on September 8, 2014 at 4:00 pm

Marija – did you as the peeps at bb press if they support Headway? I know that HT has a community block that has some forum capabilities – but, I haven’t tried it yet. Reach out to the peeps at Headway because they are always willing to answer a question or two about what works well with Headway Themes. Big hugs to you and your website.

Thanks Kimberly, I had a look around and from what I understand there is a community builder – Buddypress – that works with Headway, but I’m just after the forum aspect, not the whole community functionality. I’ll look into a bit more. Thanks again.
