This week I’m sharing how to make a hero header image.
It’s a trend that I started noticing in 2013 and it looks like it’s here to stay. An image that goes across the whole background of your site and never ever looks like a block sitting in the middle.
Hero header images make a big splash. They really get noticed and they give your site a professional look and when you add a great photoshoot pic of yourself or a styled desktop photo you’re taking your DIY site building skills up a notch.
But, if it’s your first time adding a hero header image to your site it can be really tricky that’s why I wanted to let you peek over my shoulder while I show you my step-by-step way of adding a delicious looking hero header image to your Headway Themes website.
Just remember the three keys to Making Headway while making a full width header:
- Back up your website BEFORE you get started. You never know when you could experience a TDS (Tech Down Situation.)
- Search around until you find the right image that lights you up. I’ve got a handy dandy cheat sheet that will show you my favorite resources for styled desktop photos that look great for your full width header image.
- Experiment. What I’m showing you today is just the beginning of what you can do with a full width header image. It’s a tasty morsel to get you thinking about ways that you can incorporate hero header images on your site.
